This spring, Checker Signs installed the architectural letters to complete the City of Morden’s East Entrance Feature. The 1/2 inch thick black aluminum letters were set in the concrete sign beam.
In addition, the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre (CFDC) staff worked with Block Stoneworks to complete the project with the sandblasting of the CFDC image into the concrete beam.
Although the feature is certainly a new take on entrance features, former cedar entrance sign that was designed, constructed and installed by Checker Signs in the 1980’s.
The developers of this single family dwelling condominium village had their streetscape plan design when they called for a consultation. The specifications were provided by their architect.
The thirty plus years of experience came into play when the size of some the letters requested were going to provide installation challenges.
